Critter's Crusade is Bringing Addiction to Light

3rd Annual Overdose Awareness Candlelight Vigil
Friday, August 31 @ 6- 9 pm
Lyman Point Park 167 Maple Street, White River Junction, VT 05001

On August 20, 2016 Scott MacDonald made a simple post on Facebook: "I am seeing there was another overdose today. I also saw that there was a comment made in reference to a candlelight vigil for all of these kids lives that have been lost...I feel like this would be a excellent way to bring more exposure to Critter's Crusade...I would love to see a vigil, not only for the lives that have been lost, but all of the people out there battling addiction...all of the people who beat addiction, and all of the families who have been affected by addiction... I would love to stand up and let them know their community really does care!"

This one post sparked our community to join together for the First Annual Overdose Awareness Day Candlelight Vigil. The first two years have seen hundreds of people from all walks of life coming together to remember those we've lost, rejoice for those in recovery, pray for those who struggle, and learn how we can all unite to reduce the stigma and conquer addiction in our community.

Please join us-once again or for the first time- in showing our community how much we care and in striving to make our community a better place to live. Information booths, Guest Speakers, Testimonials, Free Narcan & Narcan Training and a Candlelight Vigil/Remembrance for those who have lost their battle to Addiction.

This year, we are also doing a memorial photo wall of people who've lost their battle with addiction. If you've lost a loved one you'd like to honor, please provide us with and 8X10 photo or send a digital photo file with their names, dates town and state via direct message on Facebook or email to critterscrusade@critterscrusade.org by 8/30/18 Free hot dog, chips, and water or soda while supplies last!
