5 Years at Thyme: Celebrate (With Fries)
Eileen McGuckin took the helm at Thyme Restaurant in White River Junction on August 30, 2013. Thyme will be celebrating the 5th anniversary of her ownership during the week of August 28 through September 1, 2018. And here’s a surprise that will please fans of Thyme’s best-known appetizer.
Recently recognized as serving the Upper Valley’s best french fries, Thyme will be whisking one complimentary order of those irresistible salty morsels to each table (with entree) on August 30.

In addition, Eileen and her staff thought it would be fun to offer some of the most popular dishes on Thyme’s (then called the Tip Top Cafe) menu of five years ago. During the week of August 28, these special dishes will be offered along with the regular menu.
Black Bean Burger
romaine, tomato, red onion, guacamole, chipotle aioli
Tomato and Smoked Salmon Tart
cream cheese, red onion, salsa verde
Green Goddess Salad
tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, black olives, feta, pita chips, mesclun, green goddess dressing
Ricotta Fried Dumplings
spiced root vegetables, oyster mushrooms, beet puree, preserved lemon salsa
white bean puree, chorizo braised kale, peperonata, fried basil
Thyme’s dining room
Thyme is destination dining in the Upper Valley. The fries alone are worth any effort to get yourself a table. But the frenzy over their crazy goodness is not Thyme’s entire story. It offers sophisticated yet approachable food in a dining room with well-spaced tables and a restful palette. If you can snag a window table, you can watch the world of White River Junction unfold. I have celebrated major events with dinner there, often choose it for pre-theater dining, and find it one of the best spots when I need a long lunch and conversation with a close friend.
So celebrate! Those fries will be waiting, with your name on them.
