Through a mixture of presentation and discussion, participants will gain an appreciation for how each of us as individuals contributes to carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. After gaining some understanding of our individual carbon “footprints,” we will consider approaches and strategies for achieving a smaller carbon footprint.
Andy Friedland is the Richard and Jane Pearl Professor of Environmental Studies at Dartmouth College. He teaches courses on introductory environmental science, energy and forest ecosystems. His research examines the effects of air pollution and logging on soil carbon and forest health.
