Okay Maple Creamee Fans... Mac's Takes It Over the Top This Weekend!
Mac's Maple, the dessert branch of Plainfield's McNamara-family dairy empire, has come up with a special creamee for the Cornish Fair, which starts this Friday. It pretty much defines outrageous excess... if, that is, there could possibly be such a thing when it comes to Cornish Fair food.
The base is Mac's excellent maple creamees, which it first developed three years ago specifically for the Cornish Fair. Then, says Liz McNamara, they'll add a few things: those pretzel sticks you see above, which are chocolate dipped; a rim of maple kettle corn; a topping of maple-candied bacon; and an inside layer of Oreo and pretzel.
This is serious fair food, people! And there's only one fair in the entire country where you'll find it. For three days. By now you've cancelled those other weekend plans, right?
Mac's trailer -- if you go to Nighthawks games, you're familiar with it -- will also be serving their far from humdrum regular creamees, plus maple kettle corn, chocolate milk, maple candy, and homemade blueberry buckle with maple butter. That last one? It's in case you haven't eaten breakfast before you get there.
