UVLT is launching a Chestnut Hunt and challenging YOU to participate! Join us on August 28th at 5:30 at the Enfield Public Works Building to learn why chestnut trees are important to our local ecology, what happened to them, and if there are any left in this part of New Hampshire. We will then challenge you to go out to our Smith Pond Shaker Forest Conservation Area and find them! The Challenge is open for 6 weeks and the individual who finds and documents the highest number of unique chestnut trees will win a prize!

We intend to use the iNaturalist app to track tree findings. If you don’t already have this app you can check it out on-line or download onto your phone!
