A giant paving project at Hartford High School will change where you park when you arrive to vote in Tuesday's primary election -- you are voting, right? -- but it won't affect where or how you cast your ballot.

When you arrive at the school, signs will guide you to a parking area between the high school and the middle school. You'll follow a path marked by orange construction cones to the gym, where you'll vote -- just like always. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. -- and by Tuesday, I mean this Tuesday, Aug. 14.

It's not a good day to go wandering the high school grounds. "This is still an active construction site," said Allyn Ricker, clerk of works for the school district.

On the punch list: lights, landscaping, filling gaps and more.

Ricker expected the bulk of paving to be completed by end of day yesterday, leaving a punch list of smaller work to be completed before school resumes at the end of August.

You used to park where you see the straw now. That's not going to work anymore.
