Lebanon man arrested for drugged driving after allegedly fleeing the scene of a van accident

LEBANON - A police dog tracked the driver of a wrecked utility van through the woods and into a swampy area before he was arrested Thursday morning.

    Patrick Pruitt, 21, of Bennet Court is being charged with misdemeanor counts of driving while impaired by drugs and leaving the scene of an accident.

    Lebanon Police responded to Slayton Hill Road, which branches off Route 4 roughly opposite the Alice Peck Day Hospital complex, and discovered a white utility van lying on its side in a wooded area.

   Officer Tyler Hewes and his K-9 partner "Kymba" headed through the woods and into a swamp before Pruitt was located.

    Police said Pruitt refused the services of a bail commissioner and was transported to the Grafton County Department of Corrections.  He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at the Lebanon District Courthouse.
