Back in June, White River Junction's River Roost Brewery delighted fans of its beer and of beer-can art by putting its popular craft beers in cans. Even with a two-pack limit, they quickly disappeared. They repeated the canning in July. Those disappeared, too. And since then? Nothing.

Turns out it's not that owner Mark Babson is having second thoughts. He's just got other things on his mind right now. The brewery is putting in concrete for trench drains in the back, and redoing its floors next week. It'll be bringing in another tank, too. "Between that and production and the shop just being crazy through the summer," he says, "I've been putting it off."

But once September rolls around and he's got some more label art ready, he plans to start up again. "We should be doing more regular canning in September," he says. "Hopefully."

In addition, the brewery has been aging beer in oak barrels, and at some point not too long from now expects to start bottling it. But that's another story. Stay tuned.
