The new school year is beginning to materialize—if activity at Marion Cross is any indication—but some families in the Upper Valley will struggle to provide all the materials their children will need to thrive.

Cheryl Hermann at RE/MAX Group One Realtors is working on behalf of The Family Place, both in Norwich, to collect donations of school supplies for kids in need. This effort is one of many vital services, along with childcare and parent support, that the Family Place provides for families in the Upper Valley.

They’re looking for a wide variety of items, ranging from preschool to high school. Backpacks and lunch boxes, pens and pencils, calculators and crayons, binders and folders, glue sticks and graph paper, scissors and rulers—you name it. Some items for classroom use, like tissue, sandwich bags, and disinfectant wipes, are also on the list.

You can drop off your donated supplies at the RE/MAX office, located at 30 Main Street in Norwich, through August 22nd.

And for your generosity, Hermann and RE/MAX will say thanks with a coupon for a FREE ice cream cone from Dan & Whit’s—which is probably where you got the school supplies in the first place!

Any questions about what to donate, call Cheryl Hermann at 802-649-1333.
