Workers from Willey Earth are repairing stream banks in Norwich damaged during the July 1 deluge, and at one spot on Beaver Meadow Road the result is a travel delay.
There's a one-lane stretch north of the intersection of Beaver Meadow and Moore Lane with a timed stoplight.
Yesterday when I stopped by the workers were down in the stream bed to the left.
And to the south of the intersection with Moore Lane, toward Huntley Meadow, the road is unimpeded and the work is right there in view.
Pardon my fingertip, upper left ...
Willey Earth will complete a total of four repairs along Beaver Meadow Road, two spots on Bragg Hill Road, and near the tennis courts at Huntley Meadow.
"Work includes repair of embankments with construction of a stabilized stone slope with supporting constructed toe, guardrail, stabilization of disturbed areas, roadway repairs and erosion and sediment controls," is how the town's invitation to bid describes the project.
