Affordable housing in Norwich? Find out how it can get funded

Wondered about what kind of funding is available from the state of Vermont and federal government for affordable housing?

Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 7th, 7pm, at Norwich’s Tracy Hall, hear two guest speakers share insights and information about potential funding sources for Norwich and other Vermont towns.

Martin Hahn, Housing Director of the VT Housing & Conservation Board, oversees the administration of federal and state resources to support the development and operation of affordable housing across Vermont.

Andrew Winter, Executive Director of Twin Pines Housing Trust, directs the management of 417 housing units, with more nearly 120 additional units in various stages of pre-development, including supportive, senior and general occupancy housing.

Hahn and Winter will explore types of funding to develop affordable housing projects, and they’ll share examples of projects that have been funded using some of the $35 million available in Vermont’s affordable housing bond.

This event is the first in a series of educational sessions sponsored by the Norwich Planning Commission, encouraging dialogue about different approaches for addressing the community's housing needs.
