Budding actors, musicians, singers and dancers still have time to sign up for the weeklong Hartford Performing Arts Camp, which runs Aug. 6-10 at Hartford High.
The camp is open to students entering grades 6 through 9 who have a passion for the performing arts. Campers get to focus in musical theater or band, with the option of an arts elective.
The fun will culminate on the final day, Friday, Aug. 10, with a community performance. Musicians must have one year's experience playing in a band.
Campers will get plenty of time outdoors at the camp run by the town's Recreation Department. In addition to arts-related activities, young people can take part in the Performing Arts Camp Olympics, with summer games including relay races and water balloon toss.
The fee is $150 for Hartford residents, $175 for non-residents, and scholarships are available through the Recreation Department. For more information and to register, go to www.hartfordrec.com, stop by the office at 171 Bridge Street in White River Junction, or call (802) 295-5036
