No glued-on paper please.
Ice creamers are screaming all around the Upper Valley VT/NH for sugar cones that don’t come wrapped in paper that’s pre-glued to it with sticky, icky corn syrup.
Why the ruckus? It’s because people don’t like eating bits of paper they can’t peel off the cone. This last bit of cone is often the tastiest and crunchiest, but it often gets thrown away. It gets frustrating trying to peel off all the paper wrapping, resulting in the bottom tip of the cone getting tossed. And that’s too bad because you’ve paid for a fully edible cone.
Summer ice cream spots identified as NOT selling sugar cones pre-wrapped and glued with paper include the following:
Loch Lyme Lodge on Rte. 10 just north of Lyme, NH
Whippi Dip on Rte. 5 in Fairlee, VT
Lyme Country Store in town in Lyme, NH
Autumn Harvest in Grafton, NH
If you know of any more places that sell their sugar cones without paper, please let us know in the comment section below.
Many people scream for paperless ice cream cones because a simple paper napkin wrap will do just fine.
