You Can Make Best Pizza in the Upper Valley!

Do-It-Yourself pizza is awesome.

If you want pizza done right, you've got to do it yourself. Here's an idiot-proof recipe for making your perfect pizza. Every Thursday from now until August 23 King Arthur Flour in Norwich is holding a community pizza night at the wood-fired oven on the front lawn of the store.  You show up between 5:00 and 7:00 PM with your favorite toppings. They supply the dough, the cheese and the sauce. You work the dough, add the sauce, cheese and toppings. Then you hand the pizza to a professional baker who puts it into the oven. Six minutes later the pizza is done. (The oven is 800 degrees. So it bakes fast.)

If you've never thrown a pizza, KAF staff will teach you the technique. (If you are a pizza-making newbie like I was,  you won't be spinning dough in the air, but you will make a respectable looking crust in about five minutes.)

I topped my pizza with grilled chicken, black olives, green peppers, onions and kale. (The KAF staff advised me to add the fresh basil to the pizza after it baked.)

Just needed to add the fresh basil and my pizza would be complete

The cost is a $10 donation per pizza. The money is given to Hunger Free Vermont– an organization that provides healthy meals to kids during the summer. (Cash and check only.)
