Fire Destroys Mobile Home in Charlestown
Siding on Adjacent Homes Melted
The Charlestown Fire Department was called to a structure fire at Twin Valley Estates late this morning involving a mobile home. Mutual Aid was called, including Claremont, Springfield, and Walpole, to assist at the scene.
The fire reportedly “went up quick”, said a witness, and melted the siding on adjacent homes. A nearby shed was also lost to the fire.
Conditions were made extra tough for the crews fighting the fire as the extreme heat and humidity continued for another day, and firefighters tried to keep on top of staying hydrated with water and Gatorade. The cause was under investigation.
