A Stockbridge woman was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Sunday evening, following a single-vehicle accident on Campbell Road in Bethel.

Trooper Jonathan Duncan reported that Janeen Jarvis-Lunna, 69, had tried to pull to the side of the road during a flare-up of a medical condition. In the process, however, her vehicle dropped off the road edge and became wedged among multiple trees.

Although she was not injured by the accident, Jarvis-Lunna was partially unresponsive, and could not get out of the vehicle when responders arrived on scene. DHART air-lifted her to the hospital, for treatment of her preexisting medical issue, which Duncan described as non-life-threatening.

The Bethel Fire Department and White River Valley Ambulance also responded to the 5 p.m. accident.

Duncan stated that the driver had worn her seat belt during the crash, which happened in clear conditions on the dry, dirt road.
