The French capital of the tree sweater is a small village in Provence
If you have a yarn bomber in your town, you know what I’m talking about when I say “tree sweater.” The trees of Saint Saturnin les Apt, a village in the Luberon region of Provence, wear some of the sweetest little sweaters you’ve ever seen wrapped around a sycamore. This being France, there are even a few corsets. The idea of wrapping trees, rocks, and what-have-you in bits and pieces of needlework seems to have gotten its start in Texas, but needle crafters around the world have picked it up. So, now you know what to do with those doilies and medallions and thing-a-mies that you can't bear to toss out. If you have an art tree in your town, send me a photo, pretty please.
