Verizon Wireless is reevaluating whether it wants to erect a replacement utility pole and small cell antenna on Marion Cross School property on the Green, near the bandstand. See: Verizon Wireless Redux: Norwich School Board. The Norwich School Board has not approved the proposal. However, Verizon Wireless has placed its small cell antenna program on hold, reported Superintendent Jay Badams at the June Norwich School Board meeting. “Don’t call us, we’ll call you” is how Verizon Wireless left things said Dr. Badams.
With respect to the easement, the School Board provided the telecom with proposed changes, in part based on public comment. See Verizon Wireless Easement Not A Good Deal. The Verizon Wireless representative “didn’t see anything wrong” with the suggested changes said the Superintendent, although a revised document has not been provided.
