TO EAT PIE ON THE FOURTH OF JULY?
Help eradicate polio world-wide by coming to Rotary’s 6th Annual "Great American Pie Buffet" on WEDNESDAY, the 4th of July, at the Upper Valley Senior Center in downtown Lebanon, NH, 9:30 AM-1:30 PM. The event is a project of the Rotary Club of Lebanon.
Eat what you want on site: Adults $8; Children $5; or take away two servings for $8.
Choose among savory pies (shepherd's, pizza, quiches, onion, etc.) and sweet pies (fruits, custard, chocolate, etc.); nut pies on a separate table; coffee/tea included.
Back in the 1950s, the world experienced annually 350,000 new cases of poliomyelitis. So far in 2018, the Global Eradication of Polio has documented a total of only 8 new cases from the wild virus. We have made GREAT progress since the eradication effort began in the late 1980s.
All profits from the event will be matched 2:1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. That means your $8 ticket becomes a contribution of nearly $24 toward the cause! Last year, this event contributed approximately $12,000 toward the global polio eradication effort.
