Everyone can Meditate! Where there is mindfulness there is meditation. Mindfulness can be expressed as a form of focus and being present while "maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and the surrounding environment." (Read more on mindfulness.)

Pick your favorite activity that makes you feel most happy! I am confident you have been in a mindful or meditative state at some point whilst you were engaging in this activity!  According to Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese Buddhist monk, peace activist, and Zen master, meditation can be found even in walking. "The practice of mindful walking is a profound and pleasurable way to deepen our connection with our body and the earth." (Read more on walking meditation.) Over the last decade or so there has been a rise in Eastern practices here in the Western world; meditation and yoga seeming the most common. (My personal observation.)

Here in the Upper Valley, there are so many natural scenes that one can't help, at the very least, find moments of happiness and even solace. What if there was a place not far from where you are, a collision of happiness, peace, mindfulness, and yoga, where they all come together as one, in a beautiful, natural and historical landscape? Would you seek to know more? Tucked away in a quiet corner of Woodstock, Vermont, such a magical place exists. This place is called Leading Fields

Leading Fields is "situated privately on 186 acres of grassy fields and woods. There is a swimming pond, flower gardens, and hiking trails, as well as indoor space in a beautiful and peaceful home.  [The home] has been refurbished with love by Stacey Gerrish, who wanted to preserve her grandmother's land in her spirit.  Her grandmother was a sculptor and her work is on display at Leading Fields." - Miss Amanda of Inner Lift Yoga.
