Got 10 Seconds to Showcase What You Love?
As small as the Upper Valley can seem, it’s actually big. Really big, if you dive into what makes each town special.
Let’s start with Randolph. Or, actually, let’s let Randolph start with Randolph. Because no one knows better than the people who live there what’s great about a town.
DailyUV is launching a video contest for the Randolph area, with a chance at winning $100. We're collecting 10-second videos from residents of Randolph and nearby towns who can show all of us what they love about the places they call home. Where they walk in the morning. Or where they like to tuck into breakfast with their neighbors. Their favorite swimming spot, or view, or quirky little feature.
Why are we doing this? Back in February, DailyUV’s Jennifer Sensenich and Tom Haushalter began exploring Randolph, trying to find people who’d be interested in the chance offered by DailyUV’s platform to connect a community online. “We got excited being there,” Tom says, “because what we found was a community trying really hard to rejuvenate itself.”
They’ve talked to business owners, residents, educators, students. And each time, they’ve been struck by a bubbling enthusiasm for Randolph, what it is now, and what it can be. “So we thought, ‘Why not give people here a platform to show how great their town is?’” Jennifer says. “Anything we can do to help them unite behind this cause, we’re thrilled to be able to do.”
So if you live in Randolph, Braintree, Brookfield or Granville, pull out your phone or camera and get cracking! There’s $100 on the line for you. There's some fine print (because there's always fine print), but don't let it get in the way. Go have fun!
