Treasure hunts are always FUN when you find the hidden riches right?! There are adventure and excitement involved in finding golden treasures. Every Wednesday (*seasonally) you can have your very own treasure hunt on The Green, in Woodstock, VT. Maybe you won't find a pouch of gold coins or pirate's booty, but you will find something more valuable; a farmers market. The Market on the Green is thriving from 3-6pm, with local artisans, farmers, and musicians.

No Wednesday is the same as another as each is unique to the week. The excitement behind the thought of, "What treasures will I find today?", never gets old. Some faces are new as the number of vendors has increased (they heard word of how awesome it is), some have been around since the beginning, but all alike they are friendly. There is always an opportunity to make a friend here, or maybe even meet a date. There is live music, fresh food, and neat handmade items to look at and purchase, as well as adult beverages to sample. Even if you leave empty-handed, (it is rather difficult to do this) there is an enjoyable and memorable experience to be had at this local gathering.

The farm to table movement has really always been a way of life here in Vermont, as has unique hand-crafted quality made goods. Farmer's markets like this are a way to support the local economy, know who and where your food is coming from and to have the story behind your favorite pair of earrings, belt, wall art or what-have-you, and to have a memory of where it came from.

Find and follow The Market on the Green on Facebook for more up to date details. According to this website, some of the food vendors even accept EBT cards. For info about some of the vendors, see this article by The Vermont Standard. Most importantly, plan your trip to Woodstock and enjoy The Market on the Green Wednesdays(*) 3-6pm.
