Shooting Incident in Hartland Reported
No Indication of Risk to the Public
On May 29, at approximately 9:09 p.m., the Vermont State Police were contacted regarding gunshots and an injured subject in the area of the Hartland 4-corners on US 5 in Hartland. Vermont State Police Uniform Troopers and Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded and investigated. State Police were assisted by members of the Windsor Police Department, said at the VTSP in a press release. The injured subject was identified by the VTSP as Timothy Murphy Jr., 22, of Hartland. He was transported by private vehicle to Mount Ascutney Hospital and treated for an apparent gunshot wound, said the VTSP. His injuries were reported as superficial and not life threatening.
The Vermont State Police are investigating this incident as suspicious, they said in an updated release. At this time, the shooting appears not to be random, and there is no indication of any risk to the public.
