There's a new place to get ice cream in Lebanon . . . . and it might surprise you. Bangkok Asian Market & Café has a cooler filled with ice cream and owner Vikarnda Meesilp is ready to scoop it for you. She's got Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Mint Chocolate Chip, Black Raspberry, Coconut and Green Tea. You can even get a Banana Split or a Fruit Smoothie. But she's also serving something that has become quite the rage in Boston and more urban climes - Bubble Tea. Bubble Tea was invented in Taiwan in the 1980's. It contain a tea base mixed with fruit or milk and chewy tapioca balls (known as bubbles, pearls, or boba). Flavors include Mango, Coconut, Honeydew and other fruits and teas.
And one other thing we ought to mention is that she makes a wicked good Thai Iced Coffee that could be very addictive.
Bangkok Asian Market & Café is located at 70 Hanover Street in Lebanon, in the same building but around the left corner from the new Thai Orchid restaurant.
