35th Annual Corporate Cup
A Set Course ‘Round the Golden Dome
Thursday - Vermont businesses, government and non-profit organizations gathered together for a 5K run that began and ended at the Statehouse. This was the 35th annual optional run or walk for participants. The purpose of the event is to promote the benefits of physical excercise and a healthy lifestyle, including within the workplace. Co-workers also get the added bonus of spending time with one another outside the usual work space - at the Golden dome!
It was a rush of colorful team shirts throughout the course and even across a couple bridges. On-site music and great weather really helped the event’s success. The top of the golden dome however, is empty! As plans for new gold leaf this summer are in the works (last gold/paint was applied in 1976!) and then the statue of Agriculture, the Goddess Ceres will be returned to the top - a new statue of mahogany and ‘could last up to 200 years!’
Congratulations-thank you to all participants and organizers. & to the people that were there to cheer throughout the course... stay healthy!
