National Police Week: Message From Norwich Police Chief Robinson
We Chose This Job, They Didn’t
This week is “National Police Week” where we honor those in law enforcement who have given the ultimate sacrifice and died in the line of duty and to honor those still on the job putting their life on the line every day. I would also like to salute those with the toughest job in law enforcement; The families and loved ones of police officers – our husbands and wives, our mothers and fathers, our daughters and sons, our sisters and brothers, our friends and others who care for us. WE chose this job and its risks, but they are the ones left worrying everyday whether we’ll come home safe. Usually we do, but sometimes we don’t. Our families may not have chosen this job, but their support makes it possible for us to do ours, every single day. Please take a moment out of your busy day to remember those who have given their lives for us and the families that they have left behind, and to thank those that are still putting their lives on the line every day and the families that are waiting for them to come home safe.
