Dairy Twirl Opens on Friday, May 4
On Monday morning, it snowed. On Wednesday, as I was leaving the Lebanon Co-op parking lot, it was 89 degrees. Strangers exclaimed to each other that the elusive spring was finally here. Despite the remaining snow in my backyard, I am no longer waiting to exhale; I am down with the fact that winter has finally left the Upper Valley. I will be making an appointment soon, along with the rest of you, to change into my summer tires.
But spring is never officially here until the Dairy Twirl opens. That is happening on May 4. So it no longer matters what the outside temperature is, or whether you are still sifting the cinders from the grass along your driveway. The long-awaited season will actually arrive on Friday at 11:00 a.m.
I’ll be in line.
