Worth Knowing: UVAC Swim-a-thon breaks record and raises $10,929
The Upper Valley Aquatic Club Swim Team Swim-a-thon was a record breaker this year. These athletes swam a grand total of 8761 laps in two hours. With incredible fundraising efforts by UVAC swimmers and families, more than 10K in contributions were raised for the community.
In addition to raising money for the UVAC Scholarship Fund, this helps the club buy new essential equipment, cover meet costs and fund athlete travel.
The team donated $546 to the USA Swimming Foundation. The Foundation works to strengthen the sport of swimming by saving lives and building champions—in the pool and in life.
The UVAC Team swims at the White River Junction, VT location and practices at the Colby Sawyer pool in New London, NH as well. The team has 135 members from all over the Upper Valley including towns like Bridgewater, Grantham, Hartland , Hartford, Quechee, Reading and Woodstock.
