Relay For Life, Claremont NH
“The dance between darkness and light will always remain— the stars and the moon will always need the darkness to be seen, the darkness will just not be worth having without the moon and the stars.”
― C. JoyBell C.
You can't have the cover of night, without the rise of the sun. As much as I love nightlife and sleeping moral daytime hours away, I also love people doing good work in their local communities. This event is personal and lively. Relay For Life is a grassroots, community-based team event.
Relay for Life attendees packs the party ALL night. I received the inside scoop, here is their schedule of events. Don't be duped. This is a lot of swag that includes local entertainment from Chris Curtis a local artist from Vermont who plays the ukulele and sings.
"This year's theme for the Relay is 'books' so the "campsites" will be decorated according to the teams' book of choice. We have themed laps and activities happening all event long. At 9 pm we have the Luminaria ceremony, where we turn the lights down to light the luminaria bags that line the track. We also take time for people to express why they Relay. The lap leading into luminaria is lead by bagpiper Andy Chamberlain. At 10 pm is our most popular activity, 'Mz Relay', it's a lip-sync dance cross-dress--you name it entertaining activity in which teams have the chance to perform in front of everyone-don't want to miss it. The pool will be open for a period as well. So much going on." -Tracey Lynn Ford, my dear friend and Cancer Survivor, Claremont NH.
Lip-syncing and cross-dressing? Nightlife supports this. If you stop by, please say hello to Tracey Ford. A leader of our local Walmart Heroes Team, Claremont NH. She also will be playing a role in event leadership this year, so she is a busy gal. She also has her own story to tell about her personal experience with cancer.
Stop by and say hello. I will.
2018 Tentative Schedule. There may be changes but look at the party. Nightlife loves you!
