Worth Knowing: Folk has closing date while owner continues to seek buyer for store

Folk owner Tom Degener

The iconic Folk clothing, craft and jewelry store on Allen Street in Hanover has identified a closing date of June 1, according to its owner, Ted Degener. We wrote about Folk's closing a few weeks ago, but there was no set date at that time. (Read that post here.) It's sad to go into the store that is filled to the brim with eclectic clothing, artwork and accessories and to think it won't be on the corner of Allen Street after another month. Another victim of Amazon? Maybe not Amazon alone, but definitely a victim on online retail shopping.

Degener is still hoping to find someone who would like to purchase the store and the remaining inventory. He's certainly established a loyal following in the Upper Valley and it's an opportunity to preserve and buy a Hanover institution. If you're interested in talking to Degener, call him at 603-643-5111 or email him at folknh@gmail.com.

In the mean time, most if not all of the inventory in Folk is on sale as Degener winds down. Don't miss an opportunity to shop there at great prices while you still can!
