Vermont Center for Ecostudies Spotlight!
"Common Cents" Feature Organization for May
We are excited to announce that the Vermont Center for Ecostudies of Norwich is our
feature organization for our Common Cents program in May!
This local organization merges scientific research and citizen engagement as they study and protect wildlife across the Americas. VCE trains citizen scientists to help with research-based projects to address the needs of at-risk wildlife and ecosystems. In addition, VCE connects conservation professionals to make changes to benefit wildlife and their habitats. View their ongoing projects on their website here!
For those that are unaware, Common Cents is a community contribution program that allows customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar, and the difference benefits community-supportive organizations whose missions align with the Co-op's! Twenty-five percent of donations go to the Upper Valley Haven, 25% go to the Vermont Foodbank, and 50% go to our feature organization.
We have opted to not ask customers if they would like to round up, so please, if you'd like to participate, remember to tell your cashier that you’d like to round up your purchase total in order to donate! Thanks to all who have contributed so far!
If your organization would like to be considered as a beneficiary, please email our Education & Outreach Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
