A community approach to
White River Junction, VT – Classes for teens at the Classical Conversations Community that meet on Wednesdays at Valley Bible Church in White River Junction are filling up. Parent-directors are currently accepting applications for spots in these 2018-19 classes. 2017-18 classes are still meeting through May 2nd and are open for visitors to observe homeschooling in action.
Ruth Holleran, Linda Armstrong, and Megan Moore will be tutoring three different levels of the Classical Conversations Challenge program during the 2018-19 academic year. The Challenge A program, led by Mrs. Moore, is accepting students twelve and older who are ready to develop classical learning skills while beginning to take ownership of their own education. Mrs. Armstrong is leading Challenge B classes that will show students, ages 13-16, how to develop and use dialectic skills as they either start or prepare for high school level work. Finally, Mrs. Holleran will be leading high school juniors and seniors through subjects such as chemistry, Shakespeare, and American history that give students the content and tools with which to hone their understanding and application of classical, Christian education.
“These three women are an incredible resource for homeschooling families in the Upper Valley. They have children ranging in ages from four through college graduates and have been using the Classical Conversations curriculum for much of that time. I would love for the word about these classes to get out to other homeschooling families in the area who are looking for support as they seek to homeschool through high school. Community is essential for teens and their families!” says Pam Tengdin, Support Representative for Classical Conversations in Central VT and Western-Central NH.
The Classical Conversations community that meets in the Upper Valley has been meeting at Valley Bible Church in White River Junction since 2009.
