Worth Knowing: Coming soon to a White Mountain National Forest near you - prescribed burns
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service is planning prescribed burns in 10 New Hampshire towns between mid-April and the end of May. These planned burns can help improve habitat for wildlife, restore ecosystems and reduce the natural fuel that can contribute to the spread of wildfires. The Forest Service coordinates the burns with State and local authorities. To learn more, read Prescribed Fire in the White Mountain National Forest.
