Pick Me! Pick Me! BowlFest at the League

Faux Bois Bowls by Dawn Dahlstrom

Buy a bowl and a candle holder ... support the art-of-craft

Every year at the Hanover League of NH Craftsmen soulmates are united. The masses come out to choose that special vessel to take home and be their new bestie. BowlFest is an annual fundraiser where participants are given the unique and fun opportunity to choose a bowl from a collection of ceramic ware.

The bowls are created and provided by instructors, monitors (senior students) and some students. People take great delight in choosing that special bowl. You know, the one that calls out to them from the far side of the table. The wheel-thrown one bathed in a gorgeous blue rutile glaze that begs to be handled. Or maybe they are drawn to the subtle, hand-carved salad bowl behind that bright, lively, green one deep enough to hold hearty stew or the best kale slaw in the valley. The vessels on display sing their siren song to an appreciative and hungry audience.

After folks pick a bowl they get to fill it with deliciousness from several local restaurants. This year you will find food options from Base Camp, Boloco, Canoe Club, Carpenter & Main, King Arthur Flour, Orient, Salt hill Pub and Skinny Pancake. Also up for grabs are an assortment of candlestick holders to take home with your personally chosen bowl to dress that lovely table setting. The metal candle holders are made by senior students and instructors from our metal studio.

Support local art and local food at BowlFest on April 28th!
