Samual Buckman, 19, managed to break out a window and extricate both himself and Grace from the 1996 Ford F-150 while sustaining only minor injuries.  Grace was not hurt, Canaan Police Chief Sam Frank reported.

Canaan's volunteer firefighters responded to the scene along with the police department and Route 118 was shut down for approximately an hour while the dark green truck was removed from the river.

Chief Frank noted that, while alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors, the crash remains under investigation and anyone with information is being asked to contact the Canaan Police Department at (603) 523-7400.
