An Embarrassment of Riches in the UV

Who knew there is an internationally acclaimed cartoonist from Argentina living in Norwich? Not me! At least not at first...

An embarrassing revelation: A friendly family moved to town a while back, Mom, Dad and three kids. They seemed to like the bookstore and we started to get to know them a little. Last fall, we learned that the Dad had a kids book coming - would we like to do an event? So we said yes. Then, in order to write-up Good Night, Planet for the website, I did a little research on the author.

YIKES! This guy is a BIG DEAL in Argentina and came to the Upper Valley to work with the creative folks at the Center for Cartoon Studies. His cartoons have graced New Yorker covers and been printed in the New York Times Book Review. In my defense, I did know the Mom's last name which is different than the Dad's and he publishes under a pen name: LINIERS

We have the honor of launching Macanudo: Olga Rules #4, Liniers' new collection of cartoons for adults on Wednesday, April 11th. Hope you can join us! (Reservations recommended - 802-649-1114 or

And there are so many other creative people tucked in these local hills - indeed an embarrassment of riches. - Liza
