March For Our Lives!

Anniversaries seem to come around quickly.  Well, about every twelve months anyway. Some anniversaries seem to fade from memory but others stand the test of time and shape who we are. We all note memories personal to our own lives and those that have had great impact on our culture and country. March 15th will forever be the day I lost my mom and best friend.  A woman who was raised by my great grandmother and great uncle during the Depression, she had a world vision and an incredible sense of adventure, style and grace.  She was deserving of being carried away in a gilded carriage and not on a gurney. Pancreatic cancer is a cruel death and she fought the fight like a champ but it was not to be.

Today, I want to talk about the lives of the many school age children that have perished in our country victim to gun violence…Never, NEVER should a child be fearful to go to school, be at school or tragically not return from a day at school…unacceptable! Today marks a movement in our country March for our Lives …lead by our nation’s children.

 Look at their faces…

 Into their eyes…

 See them…really see them!

 Listen to their words…

Hear their young yet wise voices…

 Their plea…

No more lives tragically wasted by gun violence…

May we celebrate in the coming years that March 24th marks the anniversary when our country’s children spoke and common sense gun laws were put into place. We must demand that not one more child will perish in our schools, our churches…anywhere due to gun violence.

Children always have been and will continue to be our future…
