White River Growpro to host roundtable discussion about CBD
A local business is planning to host a roundtable discussion about cannabinoids - CBD - with the purpose of educating the community about CBD and dispelling some common myths about CBD. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid compound found in marijuana that is legal in 43 states. The cannabis plant contains at least 80 chemical compounds called cannabinoids. THC is the cannabinoid that prompts the psychoactive effects commonly associated with marijuana, like euphoria and relaxation. CBD is another cannabinoid, but, unlike THC, it's not psychoactive. This is the source of CBD’s popularity: the ability to provide some of marijuana’s therapeutic effects without the high.
The host of the roundtable will be White River Growpro and its South Main Street location in White River Junction will probably be the venue. Kendall Smith, Growpro's owner, said the roundtable discussion is intended to provide information about: how other medications may interact with CBD, how CBD may be dosed, when CBD should be taken, some common misperceptions about CBD, and the difference between isolate and whole plant CBD. Smith hopes to host the roundtable discussion in April. Stay tuned.
