Enfield man killed in crash with dump truck on Route 4 east of Lebanon
Crash closed Dartmouth College Highway for four hours
LEBANON - A 58-year-old Enfield man was fatally injured Thursday morning when an oncoming dump truck lost control on a snowy hill on Route 4 east of downtown Lebanon and collided head-on with his pickup truck.
The death of Robert Rogers forced authorities to close down the section of Route 4 east of I-89's Exit 17 which is known as Dartmouth College Highway for four hours while members of the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit processed the scene.
State Police said early Thursday afternoon that their initial investigation revealed that Andrew Kannler, 48, of Grafton, New Hampshire was operating a 2001 Chevy 3500 dump truck when he lost control and struck Rogers' GMC Sierra pickup truck.
"At this time it does not appear that impairment was a factor in this crash; however, all aspects remain under investigation," Trooper Daniel Quartulli wrote, asking anyone who might have information on the crash to contact him at (603) 223-8993 or by email at email@example.com
State Police were assisted on the scene by the Lebanon and Enfield police and fire departments as well as the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
