This Week Around Windsor: Snow Ball, Windsor Grasslands, and Town Ballot
Wild Women of Windsor are having a Snow Ball, Saturday, March 3rd, from 7pm-11pm at the Mount Ascutney Resort in Brownsville, VT. Join an eventful evening benefitting Windsor’s downtown area beautification featuring the Davis Brothers Garage Band, hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, silent auction, and 50/50 raffle. Tickets $15 in advance at Tami’s Headlines or Eventbrite.com by 2/28, $20 at the door.

6, 2018, Municipal building gym, Annual town & school meeting
Polls Open at 9 am and Close at 7 pm
If you are not already a registered voter in Windsor, you may register to vote on-line at the Secretary of State web-site, at the Town Clerk’s Office, or at the Polls (same day voter registration). Any voter, family member or authorized person may request an early voter absentee ballot or vote in the Town Clerk’s Office, during regular business hours. The Town Clerk’s Office is open Monday-Thursday 8:30 am to 5 pm. Please feel free to call the office at (802)674-5610 if you would like to request an absentee ballot be mailed to you. The ballot this year is quite long. To see a copy of the ballot click here. (Sorry for the sideways presentation.) The Selectboard, working with the Budget Committee approved a municipal budget to be presented for vote at this year’s Town Meeting. The proposed budget reflects an increase in spending of 2.56% requiring an expected 3.9% tax increase. The tax increase is greater than the spending increase because of a slight decrease in projected not-tax income. Documents associated with the budget process can be found here.
While from year to year the budget change can be more pronounced on either the Town or school side, the overall rate is the priority as that is the rate that impacts the taxpayer.
