Long Views in the Upper Valley

My photographic goal this week was to find long views on a clear day. Tuesday was perfect.

Photo 1 (taken in Norwich, VT): The remarkable topography of central Vermont. In the distance, Mt. Ascutney can be seen on the left and Killington on the right.

Photo 2 (taken in Lyme, NH): Fireplace on a hill. Smarts Mountain in distance to the right.

Photo 3 (taken in Lyme, NH): On a clear blue February day this scenery takes my breath away. Although it’s a bit difficult to see the detail at this scale, if you zoom in you’ll see a New England working landscape and amazing geology. Smarts Mountain looms above rolling hills of deciduous and coniferous forests. Tucked in the open fields is a farm with red barns, horses, fencing, stone walls, and dirt roads all around. This is a snippet of rural New England. This is a landscape that I love.
