You want someplace with hours of fun.  No one wants to hop in and out of the car in frigid temperatures.  Luckily the temperatures will be warming up, but until spring is really here, here are some indoor places to enjoy fun with the kiddos.

You can also learn about Unusual Birds from Around the World on Thurs. Feb. 22, 2018 in the Mayer room of the Howe Library.  Learn more here.

Montshire museum cards.  So a lot of us already know about how awesome the Montshire is.  How do you add a little variety to the trip?  I've created some activity cards to do with your kids for different age levels.  If you have other ideas for cards or want to see some for a different activity or location, let me know in the comments and I'll see if I can make some new ones for you.

Children’s Museums.  If you're a regular at the Montshire and want to try some place new, you can check out these children's museums a short drive away.  I've been to the Keene one and really enjoyed it.  You can also make a day trip out of it and go to one of the museums further away; I've suggested other activities to try while you're there.

Indoor Local Activities for Kids. Bowling, bounce houses, arcades and more.  Here are some places to pick up the kids and go when you're looking for something to do.  What about toddlers?  Here is a list of things just for the little ones.

Cooking with kids.  Did you know there were cooking activities in the area to do with kids?  I didn't.  King Arthur has baking classes like making cinnamon bons, pies, and breads.  The coop has cooking classes for kids ages 6+ during February break, a good thing to try next year.   They also do a jr. cooking class series for kids over 10; this is upcoming in March.

Just for Teens. Winter fun teens includes sports, activities.  Look for more ideas for teens in upcoming posts.

Story Times for Little Ones.  I've created a calendar of local story times so you'll always have some great time out reading, singing, and socializing with your little ones.

Family Yoga. The Richard Black Community Center holds thirty minute yoga classes for familes with kids ages 2-6.  You can bring up to three children.   Takes place on Mondays from 11-11:30 am.

Okay a couple of outdoor spots...

Snow Shoe Trek and Bonfire. Sat. Feb. 24th, 2018 5-8 pm. Enjoy some evening exercise with the family and indulge in smores by the fire after. Bring head lamp or flashlight.  No snow shoes? No problem - there are some available. Learn more here. For ages 7+.  An easy to moderate moonlight snow shoe.

Sledding Spots. Looking for a great hill?  Here are some great spots to go sledding with the fam.
