Qualifications and salary are: This is a hands-on position requiring a minimum Associates Degree and trained as a Fire Officer II (or equivalent), certification, and 4+ years of progressive supervisory responsibility in firefighting, fire prevention, training, and EMS and strong communication, interpersonal relations, leadership and supervisory skills. Also, VT EMT license is required. Completion of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program is highly desirable. For July 1, 2018, the salary would be $48,123 (Grade 21/Step A). Residency: must live within a 15 minute response time to the fire house.
