The Lady Ghosts traveled to Kingdom Gymnastics in St. Johnsbury for a meet against the Hilltoppers earlier this month. Despite recent struggles with injury and flu, the Ghosts rallied and set several personal bests while debuting new skills on most events.
Phoebe Hickin and Krystin Skoda added new moves to bar routines to improve scores, and Lilly Myrick added a new acrobatic series to her beam routine, leading to a career-high 8.15. Her beam score combined with a first-place finish on bars, and strong vault and floor scores led to a season-high 29.4 allaround score.
Courtney Clement perfected her beam routine, losing just one point in execution for a season- and career-high 8.5. St. J’s Hannah Parker won the all-around competition, scoring over 30 points.
Freshman independent Ella Tallman performed a strong floor routine for a season-high 5.65.
In the team competition, RU pushed past St. J. on beam with a team score of 30.25, but ultimately fell to the Hilltoppers 116.5 to 92.75.
The Ghosts wrapped up their regular season in a meet with the defending state champions, the Essex Hornets, and will finish out their season at the state championships on Saturday, Feb. 17.
