New Hampshire ranks 7th in the nation in the number of millionaire households per capita. The Granite State was home to 39,209 millionaires in 2017, according to Phoenix Marketing International. About 7.36 percent of the state's households had at least $1 million in liquid wealth. The number was up by 3,010 (8.3 percent) from 2016.
By contrast, there is less green in the Green Mountain State. Only 5.88 percent of Vermont's households were in the millionaire group. That works out to 15,363 millionaire households in 2017–a number that increased by 231 — a mere 1.5 percent from 2016. Vermont was #23 on the list of millionaires per capita.
