Total Wellness Comes to Hartland
Hartland, Vermont native Shannon Allen admits there’s not
much to do in the town of 3,300. As the marketing manger of the newly opened Hartland
Wellness Center, she hopes to see that changed.
The center, located in the former Hartland General Store, plans to serve as a community hub for total wellness. Currently they offer traditional group fitness classes like Pilates and Jazzercise, several styles of yoga including Hatha and Vinyasa, and personal training services. Besides fitness classes, the center also offers massage therapy and reiki services. Soon coming, are nutrition and wellness seminars.
The center is inclusive to everyone no matter where they are on their wellness journey. Allen wants people to know that it’s a safe place for people who have felt uncomfortable in traditional gym settings. That said, gym bros are welcome with open arms as well.
There are reasons for non-Hartland residents to come. Currently, the center is the only place in the Upper Valley that offers Pound; a new group fitness program that’s based on drumming and releasing your inner Rockstar. Essentially, you get to be Joan Jett or Steven Tyler (your choice!), while also getting glutes of steel. By the end of year, they are also hoping to offer a Yoga Trapeze class (think yoga in the air) which would also be a unique Upper Valley offering.
The center is having their grand opening on February 17th from 12pm -4pm, where there will be fitness and wellness demos. There will also be door prizes and reduced membership costs for attendees.
Allen mainly wants people to realize that wellness is fun. The hours of the center are 4pm-8pm on weekdays, and 9am-1pm on Saturday and Sundays. There’s no longer an excuse to be bored after work in Hartland!
