We'll Leave The Lights On For You, if you bake for us
Annual Legion Bake sale to be held on Nov 18 from 10:00 to 3:00 PM
I am re-posting an original story that I did to support the cribbage night at the American Legion as it is important to try to fill the tables on Thursday evenings. The money raised helps with the heating and electric bills during the long winter months.
Another event equally important is the annual Legion Bake sale that is held in the fall. This years event will be held on November 18 from 10:00 to 3:00 PM.
Here is the local sandwich board advertising the event. I asked myself what is a legion bake sale as opposed to other bake sales and found out it means many.
What is a legion bake sale? read on for the answer
I googled the word Legion to get an answer to this mystery.
Here is what I found out:
The American Legion Post # 8 on Beaver Meadow Road in Norwich leaves the lights on every Thursday night in hopes that people will come in and play cribbage. The proceeds that are raised will help the American Legion pay for fuel this winter and yes pay for the electricity as well.
If you are a real good cribbage player, the American Legion wants you.
If you have never played cribbage, it might be a good time to learn. You may actually enjoy the game, and yes, the American Legion wants you also.
You will certainly meet some interesting people from throughout the Upper Valley and enjoy a family atmosphere.
