Windsor Residents: Beware of Possible Flooding Near the Price Chopper

THIS WARNING WAS issued Saturday afternoon by the Windsor Fire Dept: If you live in a low lying area along the Connecticut River you should make preparations for a potential evacuation. River water levels are rising as upstream ice dams give way. The WFD is in the process of mobilizing staff to notify residents in the most susceptible areas. Particular areas of concern for high water are the Price Chopper – North Main St. end of Route 5. Additional posting will occur as the situation develops.

Earlier on Saturday morning the following warning was issued. 

*****UPDATED INFORMATION THE CORNISH / WINDSOR COVERED BRIDGE IS CLOSED AT THIS TIME TO TRAFFIC****

**Flooding Cornish Route 12a North of the Cornish / Windsor Covered Bridge. It's being reported to us that water is over both lanes of 12a in this area and rising please find alternate routes *
