1776 tells the story of the founding fathers and their efforts to draft and sign the Declaration of Independence. The play won the Tony Award in 1969 for Best Musical and is considered by some to be one of the best books written for musical theatre. It is our vision to stir meaningful conversations based on the themes in the play.
How do we reach consensus? What are the consequences of delaying action on important issues? What does it mean to be a citizen in a democracy? There will be scheduled talk-backs with local political leaders and scholars.
