Red Sun Rising on Window Ice
When the sun rises red on a cold, cold morning...
It has been so cold that the window ice (which in deep winter typically melts soon after sunrise and reforms overnight ) has not melted for nearly a week! Even so, the patterns change a bit as the days pass, many of them eventually fading into flat, blurry images. This one (below) has remained vibrant and crisp. It finally melted today and it will be very interesting to see what happens next.
You know you've been in a cold snap when you find yourself eagerly looking forward to the forecast 22° degrees for tomorrow!!
Be well. Stay warm. Happy New Year !
